Cooling beverages without the ICE


According to Ayurveda, ice cold beverages can slow down digestion., and poor digestion can cause a plethora of problems, including the inability to metabolize wastes .One of the ways the body rids itself of wastes is sweating. If you can’t sweat, you can’t cool the body down.

Instead of reaching for ice cold water, try a cool glass of water that has been infused with cucumber or cilantro ( or both!) the cooling properties will cool the body in no time without inhibiting digestion.

Other cool infusions: Rose petals with honey: Steep 2TBS dried rose petals in 1 cup of freshly boiled water , cool, and add 1 tsp raw honey. Chrysanthemum flowers are also refreshing prepared the same way! Another delightful blend- Lemon balm and lavender. Use your imagination from the list of cooling herbs:
