I Travel Well

Traveling with a bunch of herbs can be a little ridiculous. Camping with a bunch of herbs is even more difficult to do, especially if your herbal apothecary looks anything like mine. One of the great ways to take your herbs with you is by making a tincture! A tincture is a concentrated liquid form of an herb that is easy to make and easy to take. Tinctures preserve and concentrate the properties of the herb, making them powerful and longer lasting. There are two different types of tinctures available to make, alcohol or vegetable glycerin. I prefer to make my tincture with vegetable glycerin rather than alcohol, but either is fine. The vegetable glycerin is safer for children and has a sweeter taste than a tincture made with alcohol. The wonderful thing about tinctures is you can take them with you! I will be posting instruction on how to make a tincture in our recipes and remedies section soon so keep an eye out!

Of course I brought my herbal tinctures with me on my 5-day camping trip, I added them to my water daily. I sipped on them while dancing around and enjoying the music festival. Although when I don’t make my own tinctures I order them from Banyan Botanicals. “I Travel well” is one of my favorite tinctures Banyan offers and it is perfect for traveling. It is a blend of powerful Ayurvedic herbs that support you when faced with typical travel challenges. Hectic schedules, increased demands on the immune system, changes in time zone, disrupted sleep and meal routines and limited healthy food choices are just a few things that can throw off our balance while traveling. “I Travel Well” supports the body’s natural adaptive mechanisms to keep your body and mind functioning optimally through out your journey. It helps reestablish healthy sleep patterns, as well as, supporting the immune, respiratory and nervous systems. It also works to maintain digestion and eliminate the natural toxins that can accumulate due to an irregular diet and schedule.

If you know you are traveling soon I suggest trying “I Travel Well” or one of Banyan Botanicals other great herbal tinctures.

I travel well, do you?
